STUFFED SALISBURY STEAK WITH MUSHROOM & ONION TOPPING
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup FRENCH'S® Classic Worcestershire Sauce
3 cups FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions or FRENCH'S® Cheddar French Fried Onions
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 ounces Cheddar cheese, cut into 6 sticks (about 2 x 1/2 x 1/2 inches)
Mushroom Topping (recipe follows)
Directions:
Combine beef, Worcestershire, 1 1/2 cups French Fried Onions and seasonings. Divide meat evenly into 6 portions. Place a stick of cheese in center of each portion, firmly pressing and shaping meat into ovals around cheese.
Grill Salisbury steaks over medium-high heat for 15 minutes or until juices run clear (160°F), turning once. Serve with Mushroom Topping and sprinkle with remaining French Fried Onions.
Tips from French's Kitchen
Mushroom Topping
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package (12 ounces) mushrooms, wiped clean and quartered
2 tablespoons FRENCH'S® Classic Worcestershire Sauce
Melt butter in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms; cook 5 minutes or until browned, stirring often. Add Worcestershire. Reduce heat to low. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
