Slow Cooker Beer Braised Beef

Ingredients

  • 8 ounce bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 pounds beef stew meat
  • 3 large carrots, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 12 ounce stout beer
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup French's® Classic Yellow Mustard

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 Cook bacon in large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon and set aside.
  • 2 Combine flour and salt and toss beef with flour mixture. In same skillet, in reserved bacon drippings, brown beef over medium heat in batches.
  • 3 Arrange carrots, onion, and bacon in slow cooker, place browned beef on top. Combine stout, brown sugar, and Mustard and pour over beef.
  • 4 Cover and cook on Low 8 to 10 hours or High 4 to 6 hours or until beef is very tender. Serve beef over mashed potatoes, rice or creamy polenta.
