Saucy Slow Cooker Chicken

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds meaty chicken parts, skinned
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil
  • 1/4 cup Red wine
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups (4 oz.) French's® Original Crispy Fried Onions

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 TOSS chicken pieces in flour to coat. Place chicken in slow cooker. Add tomato sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, wine and lemon peel. Cover. Cook on HIGH heat setting for 2 hours (or on LOW heat setting for 4 hours).
  • 2 STIR in mushrooms and 1 cup Crispy Fried Onions. Cover. Cook on HIGH heat setting for 1 hour (or LOW heat setting for 2 hours) until chicken is cooked.
  • 3 TRANSFER chicken to heated platter. Stir sauce and serve over chicken. Top with remaining 1 cup onions.
