3 lbs. meaty chicken parts, skinned
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/3 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil
1/4 cup Red wine
1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
2 cups sliced mushrooms
2 cups (4 oz.) FRENCH'S® Crispy Fried Onions
TOSS chicken pieces in flour to coat. Place chicken in slow cooker. Add tomato sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, wine and lemon peel. Cover. Cook on HIGH heat setting for 2 hours (or on LOW heat setting for 4 hours).
STIR in mushrooms and 1 cup Crispy Fried Onions. Cover. Cook on HIGH heat setting for 1 hour (or LOW heat setting for 2 hours) until chicken is cooked.
TRANSFER chicken to heated platter. Stir sauce and serve over chicken. Top with remaining 1 cup onions.
