It seems like anything with macaroni in it is an instant "comfort food" and this easy dish brings a smile to kids of all ages (including us big kids too) and this is a healthy low-fat alternative to macaroni and cheese.
Ingredients:
6 oz FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions
1 lb ground beef
1 lb elbow macaroni
1 Manwich Sloppy Joes (can)
6 oz Open Pit Barbeque Sauce
1/2 tsp Zatarains seasoning
1 Canned diced tomatos
Directions:
Cook macaroni al dente, following instructions on the box. When done, drain in a colander. While the pasta is draining, brown the chopped meat in the same pot. When all pink is gone, drain fat and add all remaining ingredients. Bring the meat and sauce to a simmer and add pasta. Reduce heat and continue to cook until most of the liquid is absorbed by the pasta, stirring occasionally.
This is an easy, hearty main dish incorporation a vegetable, meat, and a starch.
