Southwesten Lime Steak

The flavor of this recipe surprises people when they first taste because they don't think the lime and Worcestershire sauce will work together, but the spicy tangy flavor is a treat to the taste buds and everyone really likes it.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup FRENCH'S® Classic Worcestershire Sauce

1 cup uncooked white rice

2 tbsp canola oil

2 cup frozen sweet pepper and onion mixture

2 tsp grated fresh garlic

1 lb boneless sirloin steak,cut into 1/4-inch strips

1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

2 cup water

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

Cook rice as directed on package. (Add no butter or oil if called for) Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a heavy 12-inch skillet on medium high heat. Add pepper and onion mixture, sauté for 3 minutes. Remove mixture to a bowl. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in the skillet on medium high heat; add sirloin, garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, sauté to medium rare. Add pepper-onion mixture to steak, stir in Worcestershire sauce and lime juice, reduce heat to medium, cook for 5 minutes, taste add remaining salt if needed. To serve: place 3/4 cup rice on each of 4 dinner plates, top rice with equal portions of the Southwestern Lime Steak and drizzle any remaining liquid over each plate.
This recipe can be served on the rice or it can be used in a wrap or stuffed in a pita pocket. The rice could also be picked up at you favorite Asian or Mexican fast food resturant. If rice is purchased the cooking time will be cut down to 10 to 12 minutes.
