My Say Cheese Bud Bites are light, crispy, delicious, and nutritious. They go fast, so you might want to make a double batch from the get go! A great recipe for the kids to help in the preparation too...Smile and say cheese!
Ingredients:
3 oz FRENCH'S® Cheddar French Fried Onions
2 tsp FRENCH'S® Worcestershire Sauce Products
1 cup Instant Mashed Potatoes (Idahoan brand)
2 tsp All-Purpose flour (level teaspoons)
1 Whole/Med. Egg
1 Egg White
2 oz Cheddar Cheese (or your favorite) cubed
1 tsp dried Parsely flakes
1 cup water
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions:
In mixing bowl, add instant potatoes and HOT water; blend lightly with fork and let cool. Add beaten egg and mix well. Add flour and mix again. Blend in Worcestershire sauce, parlsey, and black pepper.
With clean hands, make potato balls by grabbing a small amount of potato mixture at a time and form it into a ball (size of a golf ball) by rubbing palms together with the mixture.
Stuff the center of each ball with a cube of cheese and close the opening. Then dip balls (one at a time) in egg whites bowl for a thin coating; finally, drop balls (one at a time)into bowl of crushed French's Fried Onions, pressing onions lightly onto ball creating a thick coating making sure all sides are covered and keeping the ball shape. Place balls on non-stick baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees until crispy, golden brown. Let stand 2 minutes on baking sheet. Serve hot. Makes 8-10 Bud Bites.

I used Idahoan brand "original" mashed potatoes.
Cube cheese ahead of time into 1/2 inch size.
Level tsp. for flour ingredient.
Make sure water is HOT before mixing.
