SHRIMP DIJON

Playing around in the kitchen one day and using what I had on hand, I put together this dish for dinner. The family loved the creamy texture, and tang from the FRENCH'S HONEY DIJON MUSTARD. Although they are not generally fish eaters, afterwards there wasn't a clean plate.

PREP TIME 10 min

Ingredients:

2 tbsp FRENCH'S® Honey Dijon Mustard

1/4 cup butter

1.5 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

1/2 cup medium onion, small dice

1/4 cup flour

1.5 cup heavy cream

1/4 tsp nutmeg

6 oz sour cream

1/2 tsp salt

1/8 tsp pepper

Directions:

1.Melt butter in frying pan; add the shrimp and onion and saute for 3-5 minutes until shrimp are pink. Do not brown. 2. Sprinkle the flour, a little at a time, into the mixture. 3. Add the cream, slowly, continuously stirring to avoid lumps. 4. Add the nutmeg, salt, pepper and FRENCH'S HONEY DIJON MUSTARD and cook for 3-4 minutes. 5. Stir in the sour cream until it is completely blended. 6. Warm through but do not boil. Serve over rice or noodles. Serves 4-6.
Cream cheese may be substituted for the sour cream. This sauce is also good over salmon. The receipe may also be made as an appetizer: just serve the shrimp and sauce on a platter with toothpicks.
