Fond memories I have of watching my Grandmother scurrying around her kitchen as she worked over her old coal cooking stove, preparing the daily dinner. Although poor and simple at heart, the stories she told were as prolific as her incredible recipes. This is in honor of her and just thinking about her brings a big smile to my face! I miss you, Grandma!
Ingredients:
2 cup FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions
1 tbsp FRENCH'S® Bold n' Spicy Brown Mustard
1 cup Jumbo Lump Crab Meat
1 Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
1 tbsp Red Pepper Flakes
1 cup Chopped Green Onion for Garnish
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In large saucepan over low heat, combine the mushroom soup, 1 ½ cups of cheddar cheese, heavy cream, red pepper flakes and mustard. Stir occasionally until bubbly and melted. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the French’s Fried Onions and the remaining cheddar cheese. Remove the gratin from the heat and add the lump crab meat. Combine well. Divide the gratin mixture between 4 individual casserole bowls. Crown the crab gratin equally with the French Fried Onions and cheddar mixture. Push the crown down into the gratin mixture. Place in oven and heat for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and browned. Remove from oven and garnish with the green onion!
