Cabbage rolls were a comfort food for a lot of folks.....these bring the proverbial..." it taste like a Rueben..." ....so we just SMILE wonder why they didn't notice the name :0)
Ingredients:
1/2 cup FRENCH'S® Spicy Brown Mustard
12 Large cabbage leaves
1 lb Deli-style corn beef ( from deli or pkg lunchmeat
1/2 cup cooked rice
1/2 cup saurkraut-very well drained
1/2 cup shredded swiss cheese
1 egg
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place cabbage leaves in medium stockpot of boiling water and 1/2 tsp salt. Boil until wilted, about 3 minutes. Remove and pat dry when slightly cooled. In medium bowl, thoroughly mix the ground corn beef lunchmeat, cooked rice, saurkraut, swiss cheese and egg. Form into 12 balls. Place in center of cooked cabbage leaves and roll up. Secure with toothpicks. In small bowl, mix French's Spicy Brown Mustard, brown sugar and 1/4 C water. Pour sauce over rueben rolls and bake in 375 degree oven for 35-30 minutes.
This makes 12 Rueben Rolls, giving each person 2 per serving.
These are also great to make , using a little smaller cabbage leaf, to have for tailgate or other parties.
You can serve these with toasted rye bread and butter !
Always have extra French's variety mustards on hand for extra dipping ! :0)
