Polish Sausage, caramelized onion and pepper pretzel roll sliders

French's Spicy Brown Mustard and pretzels/pretzel rolls are such a classic combination, this recipe just kicks it up a notch with the sausage, onions and peppers. Plus you see burger sliders all the time, it's about time there were other types of sliders, perfect for a Sunday football game or tailgating!

SERVINGS 6
COOK TIME 30 min
PREP TIME 10 min

Ingredients:

2/3 cup FRENCH'S® Spicy Brown Mustard

2 large sweet yellow onions, sliced into 1/8-inch half-circles

1 large red bell pepper, sliced into 1/8-inch slices

3 tbsp light olive oil

2 lb beef polska kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1/4” slices on the bias (diagonal)

12 mini pretzel rolls, sliced in half horizontally only 3/4 of the way through

8 oz Provolone Cheese, sliced or shredded

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:

2 large sweet yellow onions, sliced into 1/8-inch half-circles 1 large red bell pepper, sliced into 1/8-inch slices 3 Tbsp. light olive oil 1/4 tsp. fresh ground black pepper 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 2 lbs. beef polska kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1/4” slices on the bias (diagonal) 12 mini pretzel rolls, sliced in half horizontally only 3/4 of the way through 8 oz. Provolone Cheese, sliced or shredded 2/3 cup FRENCH’S® Spicy Brown Mustard • Sauté the sliced onion in a 14” – 16” skillet in the oil over medium-high heat until lightly caramelized about 10 minutes, then add in the red pepper slices and cook another 8 minutes. • Remove the onions and peppers and return skillet to the heat, add in the sausage and cook until browned on both sides, drain out any grease. Add the onions and peppers back into the skillet and toss to combine. Cover the sausage/onion/pepper mixture with the provolone cheese and cover for about 1 minute to melt the cheese. • To build the sliders, take each pretzel roll and spread a generous amount of French’s Spicy Brown Mustard on the inside of the roll, put in an equal amount of the sausage/onion/pepper/cheese mix in roll and serve. Perfect for a snack, appetizer or game day treat.
I use fresh ground black pepper and kosher salt, if you could stipulate that in the recipe posting that would make the recipe more accurate.
