Often when we are running late for dinner this dish makes us happy because it is so easy and quick and we know we will be able to eat soon and because it tastes wonderful!
Ingredients:
1 tbsp FRENCH'S® Classic Worcestershire Sauce
2 tbsp Butter
1/4 cup Diced Celery
2 tbsp Shallot
2 pt Milk
1 lb Fresh Shucked Oysters or 2-8 oz. cans of fancy whole Oysters
2 tbsp Fresh Chopped Parsley
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions:
Melt butter in a 3 Qt. Sauce pan. Add diced celery and the shallot. Saute for a few minutes until vegetables are translucent. Add Worcestershire sauce along with water from the Oysters. If using cans add the water from the cans. Let reduce until the liquid is thick in the pot. Add milk and stir. Heat milk to just below boiling. Do not let boil or milk will curdle. Add oysters and heat through (approx. 5 minutes). It is easy to overcook the oysters so keep a watch on them.
Place in bowls with oysters divided evenly. Add a pat of butter on each bowl and garnish with fresh chopped parsley and fresh grated pepper. Serve with Oyster Crackers.
