mustard bread

i really enjoy this recipe, because i personal (hate to admit it) do not really care for mustard, but i really love this bread i always host a super bowl party at my house and this is always requested year after year and is the first thing that is gone

Ingredients:

3 tbsp FRENCH'S® Classic Yellow® Mustard

Directions:

mustard bread 1 loaf of italian bread (unsliced) 1 stick softened butter 1/2 cup dried onion flakes 3 TBS frenchs yellow classic mustard 1 TBS poppy seeds 1 TBS lemon juice 3/4 # sliced swiss cheese 3/4 # bacon preheat oven to 355* in a mixing bowl, mix together softened butter, mustard,dry onions, poppy seeds, and lemon juice. set aside cut the italian bread about 3/4 inch slices (or the wideth of a bacon strip) spread the mustard mixture in between the slices, now add a swiss cheese slice in each. and top with a half strip of bacon across each of the tops of each slice. place on a cookie sheet and create a tent of foil over the top for baking. bake for 20-25 minutes or until bacon is done
may double this recipe for bigger crowds (2 loaves of italian bread) for a lighter version may elimenant the bacon or use a turkey bacon and/or a low fat swiss cheese
