Easy to prepare, healthy and delicious eating.
1/2 cup FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions
2 tsp FRENCH'S® Worcestershire Sauce Products
2 tsp FRENCH'S® Mustard Products
1 Medium head of Cauliflower
1/2 tsp. olive oil
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. of EITHER - dried parsley, dill, sage or chives
1/2 cup water
Clean and breakup cauliflower into flowerettes. In covered pot, bring water, choice of dried herbs, lemon juice and olive oil to boil.
Place cauliflowerettes into pot and turn flame to medium low and steam for approx. 15 minutes or until cauliflower is easily "mashable".
While cauliflower is steaming, prepare a mixture of the following:
1/4 cup nonfat plain yogurt
1/4 cup grated parmessian or cheddar cheese
2 tsp. FRENCH's worshchester sauce
2 tsp. FRENCH's mustard
salt & pepper to taste.
Mash or whip cauliflower and yogurt mixture to a consistency of mashed potatoes. Place mashed cauliflower and yogurt mixture into an
ungreased casserole dish. Crunch and sprinkle 1/4 to 1/2 cup of FRENCH's french fried onions on top of potato mixture. Cover with aluminum foil
and bake at 425' for 15 minutes or until slightly browned.
This is a yummy and healthy alternative to mashed potatoes - bound to put a smile on the face of kids and adults alike!
I have even served this side dish to company, and sometimes sprinkle a bit of spicy paprika when finished baking for a more attractive
and adult-friendly presentation.
