This recipe brings smiles because it's a very different twist on a burger, and oh my the bacon. It's the greatest bacon you've ever had!
6 oz FRENCH'S® Cheddar French Fried Onions
1/2 cup FRENCH'S® Spicy Brown Mustard
2 lb Ground chuck 80/20
1/2 lb 6 slices Pepper jack cheese
1 lb Bacon
1/4 cup Ancho chili powder
1 lb 6 Good quality hamburger buns
1/2 cup Agave nectar
Mix ancho, salt, and pepper. Mix the meat with the fried onions. Form 6 burgers out of the meat. Brush all sides with mustard, then sprinkle generously with spice mix. Rest in frig for a few minutes. Cook the bacon until crispy, then drizzle generously with the agave and sprinkle with black pepper. Grill the burgers 4-5 minutes per side andding the cheese during the last 2 minutes. Slightly grill the buns then assemble. 2-3 pieces of bacon per burger.
This burger always reminds me of my travels to the Yucatan in Mexico. It has a very special place in my heart!
