Green Tomato Bake Green tomatoes (especially for homegrown garden-growing families)

When it tastes GOOD, what is, is!!! My family loves this one ~

6 tsp FRENCH'S® Classic Worcestershire Sauce

3 tsp FRENCH'S® Honey Dijon Mustard

6 Green tomatoes

12 Fresh Basil leaves

1 cup Cheese of choice - Parmesan, Mozzarella, Colby-Jack, Gouda, Cheddar...any cheese that you and your family enjoy...

1 cup Chopped Mushrooms

2 tbsp Dried Italian Seasoning

1/2 cup Bread Crumbs


Cut top off of 6 Green tomatoes (Oh, don't we all have too many tomatoes going on...)??? Take out seeds and make a nice little shell for upcoming ingredients of: Lightly salt & pepper to taste, inside of each freshly cleaned and scooped out tomato. Line each tomato with one or so fresh basil leaves (actually, if need be - dried basil can be rubbed into each tomato also). A tad of olive oil is optionally added at this point also... Any family preferred cheese can then be added. Splay with one teaspoon to each tomato, mixture of worcestershire sauce, honey dijon mustard, mushrooms, bread crumbs and italian seasonings. Cover and bake @ 375' for 1 hour *OPTIONAL - added FRENCH's crunched up onions on each tomato for last 5 minutes of bake is delectable and decandent!
I usually spritz a bit of olive oil over the entire mish-mosh, then top with either paprika (homemade - it's got a bit more zip) and sometimes, subsitute with either chili powder or crushed red cayenne pepper. I grow all our own herbs and veggies, so for us, this varies according to what's "out there" in the garden. : ) Make this your own dish ~
