This burger if full of zesty flavors from the Greek peppers, yogurt and feta cheese that will jazz up any meal time.
Ingredients:
3 tbsp FRENCH'S® Worcestershire Sauce Products
1 lb freshly ground turkey, both white and dark meat
1/4 cup jarred drained chopped peperoncini peppers
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese with sun-dried tomatoes and basil
1/4 cup chopped red onion
4 medium size(about 5-inch)whole wheat or plain pita bread pockets
1 cup rough chopped romaine lettuce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Directions:
In a large bowl mix togther the turkey, Worcestershire sauce, peperoncini peppers, salt and pepper. Divide into 4 portions then form into patties. Cook patties on a pre-heated electric countertop grilling machine according to manufacturer's directions or in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat until cooked through turning once about 5 minutes per side.
Meanwhile mix together in a small bowl the yogurt, feta cheese and onion. In a 250F. degree oven warm the pita pockets on oven rack.
To serve cut 1 inch off tops of pita pockets and discard the tops. Open pitas and place 1 burger into each next spoon in yogurt mixture and last top with the lettuce.
Peperoncini peppers are also known as Greek salad peppers and are available along side the jarred pickles at grocery stores or can be found at the grocery's salad bar.
