French's French Onion Sliders

Always brings a smile and has them begging for seconds! It's been called the decadent, untraditional update to the grilled cheese!

Ingredients:

1 cup FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions

1/2 cup FRENCH'S® Horseradish Mustard

1 lb 1 loaf French bread (approximately 3-4

1 lb swiss cheese

1 cup grated mozarella cheese

11 oz 1 can condensed French onion soup

1/4 lb butter

Directions:

1. Slice french bread into 16 1/2" slices. 2. Empty condensed French onion soup onto dinner plate or low baking dish. Dip bread slices into soup, lightly coating one side of each slice of bread. Save any remaining soup. 3. With dipped side of bread up, add 1 slice Swiss cheese, layer of mozzarella cheese, layer of French's Fried Onions then another slice of Swiss cheese. Top with another slice of bread, coated side down. Press down on sandwich before cooking. 4. Over medium heat in frying pan, cook sandwiches in melted butter on both sides until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted. Remove from heat. 5. Crush remaining French's Fried Onions. 6. In frying pan place 8 slices of Swiss cheese in melted butter, top with crushed French's Fried Onions and replace sandwiches on top of the each pile. Cook until cheese is golden and crisped onto the outside of the sandwich. Repeat on other side. 7. Take the remaining French onion soup and whisk together with 1/2 cup French's Horseradish Mustard for a bold dipping sauce. Serving size: 2 sliders
To add variety try these sliders with a slice or two of roast beef, bacon, portabello mushrooms, tomatoes or your favorite sandwich ingredient added! Also tastes great to add 1/2 can water to the remaining soup, heating & service these au jus!
