French's Crispy Misters

A grilled ham and cheese, crusted with French's French Fried Onions, how can you hold back a smile?

Ingredients:

3 tbsp FRENCH'S® Dijon Mustard

1/2 cup FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions

8 slices bakery bread

4 tsp very soft butter

12 oz thinly sliced deli baked ham

2 cup shredded Gruyere Cheese or similar

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped parsley

Directions:

Lightly coat both sides of bread with butter. Toast bread until barely showing gold. Spread inside of slices with French’s mustard. Make sandwiches using all of ham and all but 1/2 cup of the Gruyere. Toss remaining Gruyere, Parmesan, and French’s Onions in a small bowl. Heat non-stick skillet over medium heat, Place 1/4 of this mixture in skillet, spread to about the size of the bread. Place sandwich on top and press down. Grill sandwich until deeply golden, flip and grill other side. Repeat with remaining 3 sandwiches. Cut on diagonal, scatter plate with parsley. Serves 4.
A Crispy new sandwich. Who would have thought you could improve on the classic French Croque Monsieur or "Crispy Mister". How about adding French's French Fried onion crunch and beating them at their own game. Add 4 Tbl. more onions and toss them inside the sandwiches for even more flavor.
