It smells so good, and everyone knows it's a meal that I haven't ruined with experimentation. This one works, all the time.
Ingredients:
1 cup FRENCH'S® Honey Mustard
10 oz 4 rib steaks (bone in is fine)
6 tbsp soy sauce (I use Eden Shoyu)
2 tbsp olive oil
3/4 tsp ground thyme
1 cup sliced onion
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions:
Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Take a pan or a sheet pan, and lay out the sliced onions on it. place that in the oven while you are preparing the rest of the recipe. Mix together the French's mustard, soy sauce, thyme, pepper, and olive oil until well combined. Take the onions out of the oven. Using half of the mustard mixture, coat one side of each steak and place it on top of the onions. Take the rest of the mustard mixture and cover the "raw" side of the steaks. Cook at 325degrees for about 12 minutes. Turn the steaks over, and cook for about 8-10 minutes, depending on if you like your meat rare or medium. You can also turn the broiler on for two or three minutes to crisp up the steaks and mustard and giving them that broiled look.
I have used French's Honey Dijon, and French's Spicy Brown Mustard, and they work equally well. The rib steaks are sort of a cross between broiled steak and oven-roasted roast beef. You can serve this with potatoes au gratin or even a rice side dish.
