It's hearty and comforting and pleases both meat eaters and vegetarians. We especially love it for tailgating.
Ingredients:
4 cup FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions
1 cup Tomato Salsa (preferably medium-hot)
2 cup tomato sauce
2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
4 oz chopped green chilies (canned)
14 oz canned pinto beans (drained and rinsed)
1 cup sour cream
2 cup grated monterrey jack cheese
1/2 cup water
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Prepare Sauce:
Combine in a bowl salsa, tomato sauce, water, green chilies, and pinto beans.
Pour half the sauce into the bottom of a 12 x 7 shallow baking dish. Top with half the onions. Drop small spoonfuls of half the sour cream onto the onions. Sprinkle with half the chees. Repeat with the remaining sauce, onions, sour cream and cheese.
Bake for 35 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Top with the cilantro and serve.
