Crunchy Cheesy Macaroni

Who doesn't like macaroni and cheese? It's a comfort food that takes you back to Mom's kitchen. And when you add the fried onions, it gives it a crunchy texture as well as some onion flavor. Try it, you family will love it!

Ingredients:

8 oz FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions

1 tbsp FRENCH'S® Dijon Mustard

16 oz macaroni noodles

10 oz mild chaeddar cheese

3 tbsp butter

2 tbsp all purpose flour

2 cup milk

1 gal water

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

Cook 1 16 oz box of macaroni ( you can use elbow, but we like either Radiatore or spiral noodles)in salted, boiling water until tender, then drain and set a side. Melt 3 Tbsp butter in a sauce pan over meduim heat. Blend in 2 Tbsp all purpose flour, 1 teasp salt and 1/2 teasp black pepper. Whisk in 2 cups of milk ( we use 1%), cook until thick, stirring often. Take off heat and add 10oz of shredded mild cheddar cheese and 1 Tbsp French's Dijon mustard, stir until melted. Add noodles to sauce and pour into a sprayed 10 x 14 casserole dish. Crunch up the French's French Fried Onions and pour over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
