Chicken Empanadas Christmas-Style

French's French Fried Onions and Worcestershire give the filling the extra smile factor. CHRISTMAS-STYLE sauce is from the Santa Fe way to get both red & green chilies on your food. Easy to make and take anywhere. They're even shaped like a big SMILE !

3/4 cup FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions

1 tsp FRENCH'S® Classic Worcestershire Sauce

1/2 cup diced green chilies

1/2 cup hot or medium salsa

2 cup diced cooked chicken

1/3 cup finely diced red onion

1/2 cup shredded monterrey jack cheese

16 large flaky refrigerated biscuits from can


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In medium bowl, combine French's French Fried Onions, French's worcestershire sauce, diced green chilies, hot or medium salsa, diced cooked chicken, diced red onion, and shredded Monterrey jack cheese. Mix well. Set aside. Separate refrigerated biscuits( from 2 cans) into 16 large rounds. Flatten each with your hands to make a 4-5" round. Place about 1-2 T of the chicken filling into the center of each biscuit round and fold over to form a half-moon shape. Seal and crimp edges shut. Place the empanadas on two medium or large non-stick baking sheets, about 1" apart. Spray the tops with a little butter-flavor or regular cooking spray for extra-brown tops if desired. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown, being careful not to burn the bottoms. Cool 1-2 minutes before removing from sheets. 2 empanadas per person serving if desired. Serve with extra salsa on the side or your favorite dip.
You could use 3 cans of smaller refrigerated flaky biscuits if you like to make smaller appetizer empanadas for parties.
