This is comfort food at its best! For over 37 years this recipe has been warming the hearts and souls of my family.
Ingredients:
2.8 oz FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions
10.5 oz Condensed cream of mushroom soup
10.5 oz Condensed cream of chicken soup
2 cup Instant Brown rice
2 cup leftover cooked chicken or turkey
1.5 cup water
1 tsp pepper
Directions:
Cube leftover roasted, grilled, baked, or fried chicken or turkey.
Combine soups with water in a large saucepan, then add the chicken. Heat over medium high until it comes to a boil. Turn down heat to medium and add the rice, stirring to combine; cooked covered to 10 minutes (longer if rice packaging suggest ding so) stirring occassionally.
2 minutes before mixture is done cooking, place French's French Fried Onions on a baking sheet, and place in a 200 degree oven for 2 - 3 minutes. Serve on top of the casserole.
Instead of the regular condensed soup you can use the "low sodium" "low fat" or "healthy choice" version with out changing the taste.
Use the larger can of the French's French Fried Onions as they go fast!
