Cheeseburger Twists

This recipe is a delicious "twist" on the traditional cheeseburger. My family loves cheeseburgers and they love these twists, with the tasty hamburger and melted cheese inside. The crunchy onions on the top are an added surprise!

PREP TIME 40 min

Ingredients:

1 tbsp FRENCH'S® Classic Worcestershire Sauce

1.5 cup FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions Products

2 cup Ground Beef, browned

1/2 cup Green Bell Pepper, chopped

1/2 cup Ketchup

8 oz Colby Jack Cheese, shredded

2 Pillsbury Buttery Crescent Rolls (8 ct.)

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brown ground beef and bell peppers in a non-stick skillet until beef is golden brown and well done. Drain grease if necessary. Add ketchup, French's Classic Worcestershire Sauce, salt, and pepper to beef mixture in skillet. Cover with lid and simmer for 10 minutes. While beef is simmering, take crescent rolls from the refrigerator (These are easiest to work with when completely chilled). Unroll the crescent rolls, leaving them as rectangles. Lay each rectangle out and roll slightly, just until seams are pressed together well. Then cut each rectangle in half, making 2 squares. Place 1 tbsp of the meat mixture in the middle of each square; cover the meat with 1 tbsp. of the cheese. Pull all four sides up, pressing seams together on each side; twist the remaining dough at the top to seal the pastry. Crush the French's French Fried Onions in a plastic bag and pour out onto a plate. Dip the top of each twist in the crushed onions and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. Makes 16, serves 8.
*I use 1 lb. of 80/20 Angus ground beef. *Twist may be served with sour cream or ranch dip.
