My son commented on the world being a place of drive-throughs, get-it-quick, and convenience while eating a cheeseburger and tots. He mentioned in the future, there could be liquid fries and burgers…so I improvised and concocted a bit tastier version of his idea. We've been enjoying this quick and easy meal for years now. The recipe was originally called “Hamburger Huah.” Don’t ask me why…Just a cute kid in the kitchen.
Ingredients:
6 oz FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions
16 oz ground beef
23 oz 1 large jar Cheese con queso dip (appr 23 ounce jar)
26 oz Mini tater tots (appr 26 ounce bag)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Brown, drain, and crumble ground beef. To further cut down on the fat content, rinse cooked ground beef under hot water and drain again. Transfer cooked ground beef, the entire jar of cheese con queso, and ½ to ¾ of the bag of tater tots. Fold all ingredients until all is coated with the cheese. Spread in pan. Do not pack down.
Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and scatter desired amount of French’s French Fried Onions over the top. Return to oven for 5-10 minutes. For an “elegant” look, before serving, sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the finished dish.
This can be served right along with the condiments on a regular cheeseburger and tots; ketchup, pickles, and of course French’s Mustard!
This is a quick and easy meal for people on the go, it’s a great cold weather meal, and very versatile to fit the taste of the person cooking it. Add more or less of each ingredient to suit your specific taste. For a more fiery version, add crushed red pepper flakes before baking. Great for lunch the next day.
