When I threw this dish together one night I wasn't sure how it would turn out. But after one bite I knew it would be an instant favorite. Especially when my family couldn't wait to eat the leftovers the next morning! Just add a fried or scrambled egg to your plate and voila! Breakfast is served...yummy.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp FRENCH'S® Classic Worcestershire Sauce
6 oz FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions
1 lb Lean ground beef
32 oz Frozen tater tots
10.75 oz Cream of mushroom soup
2 cup Sour cream
2 cup Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
6 tbsp Crumbled bacon (optional)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 casserole dish and layer the bottom with the frozen tater tots. Brown the ground beef and add salt and pepper. Drain any excess fat, return beef to pan and add French's Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 1 minute or until absorbed. In a large bowl, combine, the soup, sour cream, shredded cheese, browned beef and 3 oz of French's French Fried Onions. Pour mixture over the tater tots and sprinkle remaining French's onions on top. Bake for 30-40 minutes until heated through.
For an added layer of flavor you can crumble some bacon on top when it comes out of the oven. I only do this if I have some open in the fridge. You can also substitute hot pepper jack cheese to make it a spicy dish.
