Nothing brings the family together more than the colder weather and Oktoberfests! These "Brat'ober Bierocks" are a recreation of a favorite German meatpie found at festivals. The kids love the fact that utensils are not an option when enjoying these handheld delights!
Ingredients:
4 tbsp FRENCH'S® Spicy Brown Mustard
1 Refridgerated Crescent Rolls
4 Bratwurst
2 Granny Smith Apple (peeled and diced small)
1 Onion (diced small)
1 cup Sauerkraut
1 Egg (beaten)
4 tsp Caraway Seed
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Remove bratwurst from casing and place in a large skillet over medium heat. Break into crumbles.
3. Add apples, onion and sauerkraut and cook until meat is browned and cooked through.
4. Add Frenchs Spicy Brown Mustard and mix thoroughly. Set aside.
5. Roll out crescent roll dough. Using two triangle pieces of the dough, seal them together with fingers to make a large rectangle. (One package of crescent rolls will make 4 rectangles)
6. Divide meat mixture evenly among rectangles, mounding mixture onto half of the dough.
7. Fold dough over meat mixture, sealing edges with a fork.
8. Brush dough with beaten egg. Sprinkle with caraway seeds.
9. Bake in oven until golden brown, approximately 12-15 minutes.
10. Serve with additional Frenchs Spicy Brown Mustard for dipping.
