This is one of those dishes where everyone gathers around the table fighting good naturedly for the cheesiest, meatiest chips. Lots of talking and laughter makes for a great meal.
Ingredients:
6.0 oz FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions
1.50 lb Ground Chuck or Hamburger
1.25 oz Taco Seasoning, package of your choice
12.0 oz Tortilla Chips (may not need whole bag)
2.50 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
6.0 oz Black Olives
2 cup Salsa
2 cup Sour Cream
Directions:
Brown meat in skillet breaking up into taco mea. Drain off oil if desired. Add Taco seasoning and follow package instructions. When meat is done, let cool for 4 minutes. While cooling, Preheat oven to 350 degrees and start assembling layers. On a large oven proof platter layer 1/2 of the tortilla chips, 1/2 of the french fried onions, 1/2 of the meat (use a slotted spoon if meat is runny to keep chips crisp), 1/2 of cheese and 1/2 of the olives. Repeat layers. Bake for 6 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and Serve with Salsa and Sour cream for dipping. Have lots of napkins handy!
