Congratulations to Heather Smith for Winning the 2009 Cookoff

Aztec Sacrifice

It's a great recipe for a busy family, because it is nutritious and can be thrown together in a hurry. It's similar to chili, but the added vegetables make it different. The French's Mustard is the "secret ingredient"!

SERVINGS 6
COOK TIME 20 min
PREP TIME 10 min

Ingredients:

2 tbsp FRENCH'S® Classic Yellow® Mustard

.5 cup chopped onion

2 tbsp canola oil

30 oz tomato soup

15 oz canned corn, drained

15 oz canned kidney beans

1 lb ground beef

.5 tsp salt

.25 tsp pepper

Directions:

Saute chopped onion in canola oil until transparent, then add ground beef and cook till brown. Add 2 cans tomato soup, 1 can drained corn (or substitute 1 c. frozen corn), 1 can kidney beans, and remaining ingredients. Simmer till done, about 20 minutes.
This is a recipe my sister used to make as a graduate student--that's where it got its name. If you have a vegetable-hater in your family, add a drained can of green beans: they won't even notice it.
