Apple and Maple Glazed Walnut Salad with Maple Dijon Dressing

This recipe is a nice combination of sweet, sour and salty. With a lot of crunch from the French fried onion rings and the apples. The maple glazed walnuts are like having candy in your salad.

Ingredients:

1 tbsp FRENCH'S® Dijon Mustard

1 cup FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions

2 cup walnut halves

6 tbsp maple syrup

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

4 tbsp oil

12 oz package baby salad greens

1 Granny Smith Apple

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:

1. Preheat a large dry skillet over a medium high heat. Add walnuts and 5 tablespoons maple syrup. Cook, stirring often, until syrup is caramelized and nuts are toasted, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat; spread out on a large piece of wax paper to cool. 2. In a large salad bowl combine 1 tablespoon maple syrup, mustard, vinegar and salt & pepper. Then whisk in oil until blended. 3. Add greens to salad bowl and gently toss just before serving. Divide greens between 6 salad plates or bowls. Core and cut apple into matchsticks. Divide apple, cooled walnuts and onion rings over all.
