Shepherd's Pie

Fast and easy comfort food for a busy weeknight. Everyone loves the french fried onion flavor. Also a good way to use up leftover mashed potatoes.

PREP TIME 20 min

Ingredients:

1 cup FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions

1 lb Lean Ground Beef

1 tbsp Minced Onion (dried)

1/4 tsp Chili Powder

15 oz Green Beans, sliced and drained

10 oz Tomato Soup, condensed

2 cup Mashed Potatoes, prepared

1/2 cup Grated Cheddar Cheese

1 tsp salt

Directions:

Brown beef with onion; drain. Add chili powder, salt, soup and green beans. Mix together and place in greased 2-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with french fried onions. Stir cheese into mashed potatoes and spread over top. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
This recipe was given to me by my grandmother many years ago and is a family favorite. I use instant garlic mashed potaotoes for a speedy weeknight dinner and sprinkle additional french fried onions over the top.
