Easy Shepherd's Pie
My husband loves this recipe b/c it is quick, easy, affordable, and perfect for a cold winter day.
Ingredients:
3 tbsp FRENCH'S® Worcestershire Sauce Products
1 lb ground beef
1 diced yellow onion (medium)
1 bag of frozen peas and carrots
3 cup instant mash potatoes
1 cup milk
2 tbsp butter
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 cup water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Sautee diced onion in 1 Tbsp of butter over medium heat. Add ground beef and heat until beef is browned. Add 3 Tbsp of French's Worcestershire sauce and let simmer over Low-Meduim heat. Place frozen bag of peas and carrots in a microwaveable bowl and microwave for about 6-8 minutes. Mix 1 tsp. of salt and 1 tsp. of pepper in the frozen veggies when finished. As you are waiting for the frozen veggies to finish, prepare your instant mash potatoes. In a saucepan, mix 3 cups of water, 1 cup of milk, and 1 Tbsp of butter. Heat over medium-high heat until butter is melted and mixture begins to boil. Immediately take off of heat and add 3 cups of instant mash potatoes to the liquid mixture. Make sure all potatoes are covered with the liquid. Let stand 2 minutes and stir with a fork to make sure all potatoes have been incorporated. In a 9 by 13 casserole dish, layer the bottom with the veggies. Layer the browned beef with onion on top of the veggies. Then spread the mash potatoes over the beef. Sprinkle one cup of cheddar cheese on top of the mash potatoes. Place in 350 degrees oven for about 10 minutes. Enjoy!
