Ever since, my sisters and I were kids we always liked it when our dad cooked for us. When my mom was working late at the hospital our dad was in charge of dinner. So without going through the hassle to go to the grocery store we always had ground beef handy, but no hamburger buns of course. So one day my dad was going through the fridge and he started pulling random condiments out and everything to make hamburgers with. We asked him what he was making us, and he said it was a surprise. The best part of making these burgers was, my sisters and I always got to mix the ingredients together. We used our hands because it was just more fun that way, and having dad around he always let us get our hands dirty. Still to this day, it always puts smiles on our faces when dad cooks up his surprise burgers. Sometimes he uses different ingredients, but we always keep the French's Mustard and ketchup in there because those are our favorite burger ingredients. My sisters and I are older now, but we always make sure we take turns mixing all the ingredients together since that is one of the best parts besides eating them when they are done.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup FRENCH'S® Classic Yellow® Mustard
1/2 tbsp Steak Seasoning
1/4 cup Olive oil
1/2 cup yellow onion, roughly chopped
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp dill pickles, roughly chopped
1 lb lean ground beef
2 tbsp Italian bread crumbs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Directions:
1. Mix all your ingredients except the olive oil, together in a large bowl. Its more fun to mix with your hands, or use a large wooden spoon if you don't like getting your hands dirty.
2. Form mixture into golf ball sized hamburger patties.
3. Heat a large pan with the olive oil. When the pan is hot, fry the hamburger patties until brown.
4. When hamburger patties are cooked, drain on a plate covered with paper towels.
These hamburgers are best served with crispy french fries and a green salad.
This is also a low carb dish because there is no bun needed.
To make this recipe, you can use anything that sounds good on a hamburger and put it in the ground beef mixture.
