I love chicken fried steak, but hate the mess of frying. I like the way the steak cooks into the potatos.
Ingredients:
3 cup FRENCH'S® Cheddar French Fried Onions
1 tbsp FRENCH'S® Classic Worcestershire Sauce
4 eggs
2 lb tenderized round steak, cut into 6 pieces
4 cup instant potato flakes
3 cup milk
2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 tbsp butter or margarine
6 cup water
Directions:
preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a microwave safe bowl heat water and butter until butter melted. In a mixing bowl mix potato flakes, milk, and shredded chesse. Gradually add melted butter and water. Spread potatos into a 14x 10 inch deep pan.
Finely crush fried onions and place on plate.
Beat eggs and worcestershire sauce together. Set aside. Dip steak pieces into eggs and then fried onions. Place meat on top of potatos. Cover and bake for 35 minutes. Remove foil and bake 5 min. more.
